MADSAKI, born in Osaka, Japan, and raised in New Jersey, is an internationally acclaimed
contemporary artist known for his satirical and boundary-pushing works that blend humor,
critique, and nostalgia. A graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York, MADSAKI
developed a signature style that combines raw, graffiti-inspired aesthetics with poignant
commentary on consumerism, pop culture, and societal norms.
MADSAKI’s work often reimagines iconic imagery, from classical masterpieces to pop culture
references, using bold, loose brushstrokes and spray paint to create a sense of raw energy and
imperfection. His “Wannabe” series, which reinterprets famous works of art, exemplifies his
ability to challenge traditional notions of artistic value while making fine art more accessible to a
broader audience.
Rooted in themes of identity and cultural duality, MADSAKI’s work reflects his personal
experiences as a Japanese artist raised in the United States, bridging Eastern and Western
influences in a uniquely compelling way. His pieces resonate with a sense of rebellion and
vulnerability, inviting viewers to confront their own perceptions of art and culture.
MADSAKI’s work has been exhibited in leading galleries and institutions around the world,
including collaborations with Takashi Murakami and appearances in major art fairs. Through his
innovative and irreverent approach, MADSAKI has established himself as a bold and influential
voice in contemporary art, continuing to captivate audiences with his unapologetic creativity.
